Brownsburg, Ind. – Displaying a strong start to the 2014 Pro Mazda Championship season, Juncos Racing is ready for Rounds 3 and 4 at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. The team currently leads both points’ standings in the driver and team Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires.

Earlier this year Juncos Racing captured the 2014 Cooper Tires Winterfest Team Championship and driver Spencer Pigot claimed the driver’s championship at Barber Motorsports Park.

Preparing his team for the next two rounds of the season, team owner Ricardo Juncos is confident Juncos Racing will be back on the podium at Barber Motorsports Park. Juncos looks to continue his success at Barber where his team has been previously victorious.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Barber this week,” said Juncos. “We have had an amazing start to the season both at Winterfest and just a few weeks ago in St. Pete where we dominated both races. My team has been working hard preparing the cars and the drivers have been training and working on the simulator so I have no doubt we are ready for Barber. I want to thank everyone for their continuing support this season and for my team’s dedication both on and off track as we continue our battle for the championship.”

The 2014 Pro Mazda Championship Presented by Cooper Tires returns this week April 25-27 at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. This road course features 17 turns on 2.38 miles with 80 feet of elevation change.

About Juncos Racing: Ricardo Juncos, a former Formula Renault driver and son of a driver, grew up with a deep passion and desire for racing. At the age of 14, Juncos made his first steps in the racing community driving karts in Argentina. Through his success in karts Juncos was able to join the Formula Renault class competing throughout South America. After funding became difficult as many drivers experience over their career, Juncos began working for many race teams in order to continue his own racing career. During this time Juncos was able to learn all aspects of the car in and out, along with schooling in mechanical and electrical engineering.

Stationed in Buenos Aires, Argentina and headed by Ricardo Juncos, “Juncos Racing” became a full-service Formula Racing team in 1997. By 2003, the team relocated to Miami, Florida as a full-service karting team. During the first few years in the U.S., the team picked up 19 local, regional, and national karting titles. Moving right along, Juncos Racing not only moved operations north to Indiana, but it developed into a formula open-wheel racing team in 2008. The team went into full swing, dedicating most of the time preparing drivers and crew members for the next level in racing. Following this transitional year, Juncos Racing participated in its first open-wheel series—the 2009 Star Mazda Championship. 2010 proved to be a big year for the team in the Star Mazda Championship capturing the driver championship and finishing second in the team championship. By 2012, the team’s operations expanded to include cars in the Firestone Indy Lights series and even fastest lap of the Freedom 100 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Juncos Racing currently operates out of Brownsburg, Indiana.
